Join us at the Rolla Brewpub on March 28th for an All-American Evening of patriotic music on the "jukebox" as we host Board Games competitions, a Scenes of America photo competition, and an Apple Pie judging contest between a local store-baked pie, or Mom's (cost to play or vote: One George Washington). All the while enjoying some of the best craft beer in AMERICA! We'll have training tips and race details, and a portion of every pint purchased will be donated by the Public House to the Honoring Our Heroes Marathon - an annual charity event which benefits local veteran's causes. Don your Red, White, or Blue, and join us!

Competitions:

Board Games: What is more American than playing Board Games? We'll have Scrabble, Jenga, Monopoly, and more.
Cost: a good old fashioned George Washington ($1)

Scenes of America Photo Contest: Two Categories: Amateur and Professional. Bring your 5X7, 8X10, or 11X17 photo with a caption (location, camera used, etc.) preferably framed or mounted on card stock. Place your name on the back. Winners determined by votes: winners in each category and certificates presented at 8:30 PM. Entrants: Please pick up your photos after 8:30 PM.
          Cost to Vote: $1

Apple Pie Judging: A small sample of two pies will be given to each voter in a taste test between a local bakery vs. dear ol' Mom! Winner announced at 8:30 PM!
          Cost to Vote: $1

on the jukebox:

Selections to include Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, God Bless the USA, Country Roads, and many more!
Cost for 2 songs: 1 greenback

Run/walking and craft beer pairings:

May we offer the following suggestions for your consideration?
Rod's Cream Ale: After a nice 3 mile training run or walk, (perhaps to celebrate completing the Heroes 5K?) try this light and refreshing craft beer - truly an American Original.

Frisco 1501: This lightly fruity, traditional American rustic beer is a perfect accompaniment to a session with three friends as you plan which of you will run leg 1, 2, or 3 of the Heroes Marathon Relay, then joining together for the last lap to the finish line - then celebrate your hard work with the beer named after the hardworking American train.

Elusive IPA: Re-hydrate after finishing the Heroes Half Marathon with Elusive! This smooth tasting IPA is a result of a solid six month research - perhaps how long it took you to train to run, walk, or jog the 13.1 Heroes Half Marathon.

Revelation Stout: Only the STOUT of heart can finish a full 26.2 mile marathon - you earned a Revelation! With the aroma of bold coffee and decadent yet crafted of pure malt, lift a pint of this dry and satisfying beer and CELEBRATE YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT! Not only do you have some serious bragging rights, have a hefty medal to show for it, but monies raised from HEROES MARATHON help local veterans: a win for both you, and our community.

ABOUT Honoring our heroes marathon event:

Proceeds from the fundraising event benefit local veteran's, such as the WARRIOR IN NEED FUND at our local Army post, Fort Leonard Wood. We have donated over $24,000 to date, and are busily planning for our next race on 11/17/18. The full marathon course is from Salem to Rolla. We also offer a half marathon, which covers the last 13.1 miles of the marathon route; a Marathon Relay in which a team of three can split the 26.2 miles; or a 5K in and around Lions Club Park in Rolla. We are proud to have hosted runners and walkers from 25 states this past year, and have had two international runners. We are blessed by the support of local volunteers and organizations, and the sponsorship of a great many local businesses.
